Creating Fluid Art

Pouring paint comes with different techniques and different perspectives. However, getting the consistency of the paint is always the first step in creating fluid Art. It’s my goal to add more videos of how I create my art as the process can take many different turns. If you are interested in learning more please contact me.

Artistry through Fluidity.

At 20, I enlisted in the Army. Military life afforded me exciting views of nature I hadn’t seen before. Scenes like:

  • Desert grasslands in Texas.

  • The mountainous terrain in Washington.

  • Rocky coastal terrain in Guantanamo Bay.

  • Flat coastal plains in Belgium.

  • Forested hills of Germany.

  • Farmland and open country of the Midwest.

  • And various other places the military transported me to.

Inspiration for my work has come from the details and moments of everyday life – favorite hiking trails, trips to the shore, lichen-covered fences, flowers, classic movies...

I may begin a painting with an idea of the direction I want to take, but I have found that fluid painting is more of a dialogue between the artist and the work. Fluid paintings are a playground of visual delights. In Fluid Art, worlds of color and contemplation come to life. I don’t force my preconceived notions of what it should look like; I just go with the flow.

Above all, with whatever I create, I seek to impart a sense of vitality and joy, a celebration of the most significant art of all – the art of a happy, well-lived life.
